Dutch conceptual artist Han Hoogerbrugge presents his amazing video for The Young Punx’ radical italodisco deconstruction of Wham!’s “Club Tropicana”. Han’s highly personal and surreal visuals have accompanied The Young Punx music since 2006. In 2019 The Young Punx are releasing one track per month, each accompanied by Han’s visuals. A truly multimedia artist, Han’s work with the Punx has spanned hand illustration, live action and vector graphics, but his current work presents experiments in gratiously crude CGI characters, where the half finished and corrupted or ‘incorrect’ composite characters create an ‘uncanny valley’ effect of something that is nearly correct but wierdly off. Wonderland finds Han at his most joyous though, as a very funky hulk gorilla explores a technicolour alternate reality populated by union jack sharks and a variety of surreal dancing chimaera showered by bouncing flowers and fruit…
