“The Young Punx are credible dance music provocateurs in the manner of the KLF” – Billboard
The Young Punx is the genre-smashing, pop-culture-driven electronic music project led by Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum producer Hal Ritson — known for his 25 billion stream's worth of work with artists including Kanye West, The Chemical Brothers, Nas, Duke Dumont, Avicii, Charli XCX, Fatboy Slim, Swedish House Mafia, Clean Bandit and many more.
Where his mainstream credits shape global hits, The Young Punx is Ritson’s wild creative playground — a chaotic, joyful mash-up of dance music, rock, disco, jazz, and beyond. It’s club culture with a sense of humour and a rebellious streak. A place where musical boundaries collapse and fun takes the spotlight.
With a musical DNA that blends house, breaks, drum & bass and a fearless love of genre collisions, The Young Punx throw everything into the mix: 80s synths, opera arias, surf guitar, ragga MCs, Cuban horns, virtuoso guitar solos, movie samples, and the shipping forecast — sometimes all in the same track. It's dance music with a sense of humour and heart.
Originally rising to notoriety in the early 2000s as viral bootleg remixers, The Young Punx were named “Bootleg Remixer of the Year” by BBC Radio 1 and championed by legends like Fatboy Slim, Annie Nightingale, and Judge Jules. Their debut release on EMI turned a TV advert into a dancefloor hit and briefly hit the bookies’ list for UK Christmas Number 1.
Since then, The Young Punx have released music on labels including Ultra, Avex, Toolroom, and Kitsuné, and collaborated with artists such as Amanda Palmer and Peaches, Norman Cook, Don Diablo, Lenno, Guthrie Govan, Count Bass D, Dizzee Rascal, and Snoop Dogg.
They’ve performed globally as a live band and DJ act, hitting stages from Glastonbury, Summer Sonic and NanoMugen to clubs like Pacha, Privilege, Fabric, Ageha Tokyo, Avalon LA, and Ministry of Sound.
Based at their London studio The Old Hit Factory (formerly home to Stock Aitken & Waterman), The Young Punx also run MofoHifi Records, known for launching early releases from artists like Avicii, Alizzz, Phonat, and Bobby Tank.
In 2025, The Young Punx return with WPUNX — a genre-blending concept album disguised as a rogue radio transmission from the apocalyptic edge of the musical universe. Expect chaos, invention, and absolutely no genre loyalty.
